New Superman Logo for ‘Man of Steel’
1st April
Being the massive Superman fan that I am, it just doesn’t feel right that I don’t have the new Superman logo for Zack Snyder’s reboot of Superman adorning my website.
So here it is in all its glory, the new logo for next year’s Man of Steel
The logo (thanks to @popcornjunkies) looks pretty sweet, a new take on an old favourite. I love how the “S” almost looks like a serpent or dragon, I wonder if that will feature in the film…
I also really like the look for the dull red against a really dull backdrop which provides a grittiness to it and with the light shining on the top of the logo it’s almost like hope among the darkness.
Maybe I’m just thinking too much.
Man of Steel opens next year!

Henry Cavill as Superman: First Official Pic
6th August
Written by: Russell
There we have it film fans, the first official image of Henry Cavill as Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.
As a lifelong Superman fan, I am little nervous and just a tad disappointed by the image.
This Superman looks darker and edgier than the other incarnations with a colour muted suit, different shaped symbol, and even the expression on Cavill’s face.
It looks like (and this is only first impressions) Zack Snyder has taken Superman down the path of the gritty, realistic, and darker tone made famous by Chris Nolan and the Batman franchise.
I hope I am wrong, I really do.
Superman is a completely different character to Batman. Don’t try to make him the same.
Please.

Man of Steel: Cast Updates
27th June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Man hasn’t it been a big week for the Man of Steel…here’s a recap of the latest casting news.
Just yesterday it was announced that Christopher Meloni has been cast in an unknown role.
According to Worst Previews, NY Mag caught up the man himself and he annouced that the role is not Lex Luthor, after much speculation. Instead it will be a general, of some sort. So not only will the former Dectective Stabler not be playing Lex Luthor but it also rules out Perry White too.
The annoucement of Chris Meloni’s involvement followed hot on the heels of the announcement that Julia Ormond has joined the cast playing Lara, Superman’s Kryptionian mother, wife to Jor-El.
Now technically I haven’t seen anywhere online where it’s stated that it’s a lock however my trusted source of IMDb.com has Ms Ormond in the … Read More »
Official Immortals Posters
23rd June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Thanks to /Film for posting 5 official posters released for Immortals.
The posters look SWEET! They definitely capture the grandeur, spectacle, and simple awe that one would expect from a film about the Greek Gods.
Check them out!
I hope that Immortals is good but if it isn’t and turns out to be a poor imitation of 300 then at least we were able to enjoy these awesome posters.
Seriously, they’re really cool…so much better than the Thor posters.
Immortals is due for release in Australia November 2011.

Immortals – Man vs the Gods
23rd June
Written by: Stoic Taco
We all remember 300 right?
Zack Snyder doing his thing with slow-mo action sequences and greased up Spartans taking the fight to the rampaging Persians in a wild and bloody adventure based on Frank Miller’s awesome graphic novel.
Well…meet 300‘s wild, colour saturated, and slow-mo younger cousin, Immortals.
As you can see, it’s pretty obvious that it’s “From the producers of 300″, the question is, will it be as good? When I hear Theseus give his speech to to his army, all I can hear in my mind is Gerard Butler. Maybe it’s just the trailer. Maybe Henry Cavill will be just as good as Gerard Butler. Maybe.
Immortals tells the story of Theseus (Henry Cavill) who has been chosen by the Gods to defend humanity from the rampaging King Hyperion, who has set out to wage war against all of … Read More »
Russell Crowe as Jor-El?
16th June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Today THR reports that Russell Crowe is in negotiations to play Jor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian father, in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.
If the negotiation is successful then Mr Crowe will be stepping into a role made famous by Marlon Brano in the original 1978 version of Superman. Although Mr Brando’s screen time in the film only ended up being about 16 minutes, let’s hope that the role is expanded a little more in this version.
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
Whether you like the man or not, Russell Crowe is a very talented actor and is capable of playing any role that he puts his mind to. Speaking of which, if you need proof of the man’s talent then go … Read More »
Michael Shannon IS General Zod!
11th April
It’s official!
Henry Cavill will be facing off against Michael Shannon in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel!
Mr Shannon, best known for his Oscar nominated role in Revolutionary Road and most recently as his turn as Agent Nelson Van Alden in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, will take on the villainous role of General Zod!
Director Zack Snyder had this to say about the casting decision;
“Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role”
This is great casting and I think that Mr Shannon will play a great General Zod and it’s also a relief to hear that this Superman reboot will have an actual villain other than … Read More »
