Yes we all know that the David E Kelley TV version of Wonder Woman starring Adrianne Palicki didn’t get picked up and from what we’ve all heard it wasn’t too crash hot…so it probably worked out for the best.

So where does that leave the Wonder Woman character? Will she ever make it to the big or small screen? Or is she just one of the characters that is just a little too difficult to give the full film treatment?

Well according to director Nicholas Winding Refn, whose latest work Drive, hits cinemas shortly, said that he would basically cast Christina Hendricks as Wonder Woman in a heartbeat!

The much hyped Wonder Woman TV series from David E Kelley and starring Adrianne Palicki is pretty much dead in the water after NBC didn’t pick up the series as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

I don’t think this decision comes as a big surprise to anyone following the constant barrage of criticism levelled at the show since its inception. From having David E Kelley step in as creator, to having a convoluted and weak storyline, to the explosive online reaction to the first images of the costume (forcing a slight change), and finally to having Elizabeth Hurley as a once off villain.

NBC declining to pick up the show has pretty much killed any chance of the pilot ever being broadcast, unless as posted on Superhero Hype, they release the show online or through iTunes.

So you know that when the original Woman Woman image was release there was nothing but negative comments all over the Internet, ranging from “where are the stars?”, “it’s not patriotic enough”, and “she looks like a random dressing up as WW” etc

Greetings all,

I’ve been posting a few articles about the upcoming Wonder Woman TV show created by David E Kelley and starring Adrianne Palicki and I think expressed some concerns that the show may not be too successful.

That is until I saw Ms Palicki in full Wonder Woman costume this morning…it took me a few minutes to pick my jaw up off the floor and type this out…

Mr E Kelley, I’ve changed my mind…you have a success on your hands…it doesn’t even matter that the story sounds a little lame and may not interest the male viewer, just give Wonder Woman as much screen time as possible and we’ll be happy.

If Baywatch can run for years based on Pamela Anderson in a red swimsuit then Adrianne Palicki should ensure a minimum 3 season run!

Elizabeth Hurley announced on her Twitter feed that she will be joining the cast of ‘Wonder Woman’ for the pilot episode!

“Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. I’ll be playing the evil villain. Can’t wait.”

Ms Hurley playing a villain…this is great news! Why, you ask?

I have one word for you…Bedazzled.

Ms Hurley played the biggest villain of them all in wonderfully funny 2000 film, co-starring Brendan Fraser. Not only was she great in it, very funny, but smokingly HOT!

Surely I can’t be the only one who would be keen to see Adrianne Palicki face off against Liz Hurley…even if it just for the pilot.

And judging by the initial leaked reports of the Wonder Woman script, the addition of Elizabeth Hurley could be the best thing about the series….sorry David E. Kelley.

Let’s give a big hand to Adrianne Palicki who has just been announced as the new Wonder Woman in David E Kelley’s TV reboot!

Many of us were holding our breath for a Christina Hendricks <sigh> announcement  however twas not to be…however casting a *relative* unknown might just be the best choice for our heroine.

I say relative unknown because Miss Palicki is best known for her role as Tyra Collette on Friday Night Lights and may not be a household name…just yet.

Could this be the big breakout role that will serve as a platform to international stardom or will this reboot will doomed to be a one season failure?

This answer has dashed the hopes of many a fan who love her portrayal of the wonderfully in-charge Joan Harris in the award winning TV show ‘Mad Men’.

We can only hope that the casting agent in charge realises the error of their ways and quickly jumps on the phone to call Mrs hendricks and asking her to play Wonder Woman!

The only question that remains now…can Wonder Woman be a redhead?
