‘Total Recall’ Official Trailer
2nd April
Ok, I stand corrected. I was wrong. I’m a big enough man to admit when I made a mistake and I made a mistake by writing off this Total Recall reboot without really giving it half a chance.
This trailer kicks ass and I am officially sold, I’ll be there when it opens.
Check it.
As discussed before, this version of Total Recall is set in the futuristic world controlled by two super-powers, Euromerica and New Shanghai, both vying for a larger stake of total control. Factory worker Douglas Quaid starts to suspect that he may be a spy, but trying to figure out for which side…
First things first, I am a big fan of the darker and grittier look of the film compared to the original version. Now this remains to be seen if it will continue throughout the entire film but … Read More »

‘Total Recall’ Teaser Trailer for a Trailer
30th March
Is it just me or is that just stupid?
Yes I know that by releasing a short 30 second teaser trailer and then saying you can see the proper trailer in one weeks time has set the Internet abuzz with plenty of talk about it but the whole concept annoys me. But I guess that means I am part of the problem since I am now talking about it and hosting it on the site….damn you!
So this film is based on the short story by Philip K. Dick “We can remember it for you wholesale” and set in a future world where the 2 Super-States of Euromerica and New Shanghai fight for supreme power. A factory worker Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell) begins to suspect that he is a spy…but unsure of which side he’s fighting for.
When I first saw that trailer … Read More »

‘Total Recall’ First Image Released
15th July
Thanks to The Film Stage, here’s the brand new first released image from the Len Wiseman directed reboot of Total Recall starring Colin Farrell and Bryan Cranston.
If you are new to the concept of Total Recall being remade then you may not be aware that the film barely resembles the original 1990 blockbuster starring the ultimate action star Arnold Schwarzenegger and set on Mars.
This one is set in the near future consisting of 2 power states, Euromerica and New Shanghai. A factory worker played by Mr Farrell begins to form the impression that he is a spy…but unsure of which side he’s on. Oh and the kicker? Nothing to do with Mars…
So you’ve got to admit that this one sounds like an adventure that could easily fit within the Jason Bourne stories, but I reserve judgement until I get to … Read More »

Bryan Cranston Playing Cohaagen
22nd June
Written by: Stoic Taco
You have to admit that Ronny Cox played a convincing Cohaagen in the original Total Recall right?
So if you’re Bryan Cranston and playing the same character in the reboot you have to acknowlege those are some prety big shoes to fill. What are you going to bring to the table to separate the characterisations?
Thanks to Total Film, Bryan Cranston explains his position on playing the character;
“I took a different path as you will see. To me, to find [Quaid] and to capture him was about trying to restrain an unruly teenager of mine. I have no intention of causing him any long term damage, but he needs to be punished. He is being challenging like a teenager would be. That is my whole approach to it as opposed to the ‘I want him dead!’ kind of feeling.”
Just knowing that … Read More »
John Cho Joins 'Totall Recall'
27th May
Written by: Stoic Taco
The casting news this week for Total Recall is being released quicker than a Johnny Cab navigates the streets of Mars!
Today it was announced by EW that John Cho (Star Trek, Harold and Kumar films) has been cast in the role of McClane, the slick salesman who sells Doug Quaid the memory package which involves the implantation of memories into his brain.
We know that Mr Cho can turn on the charm and play sleazy, just have a look at the episode of How I Met Your Mother, where he plays the head of an evil lawfirm couorting Marshall into joining them. Season 3 episode 6 “I’m Not That Guy” if anyone’s interested in seeing Mr Cho turn on the charm.
This is great news for the film because John Cho is capable of balancing comedy, sleaziness, and make … Read More »

Kate Beckinsale & Jessica Biel Confirmed For 'Total Recall'
26th May
Written by: Stoic Taco
Thanks to Collider, it has been confirmed that both Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel have been confirmed for Total Recall.
It has long been rumoured that Kate Beckinsale would be joining the cast in the role of Lori, wife to Doug Quaid (Colin Farrell). It’s not surprising that there were rumours since Ms Beckinsale and director (and hubby) Len Wiseman have collaborated before on Underworld and Underworld: Evolution.
It’s now been confirmed that that Kate Beckinsale has signed on as Lori, so the only question remaining is “How will she fare when compared to Sharon Stone?”
Joining Ms Beckinsale is Jessica Biel who has been cast in the role of Melina, a member of the rebellion fighting under Quatto and is the one person that Doug Quaid can turn to when he needs help.
The role of Melina was previously played … Read More »
