Summary:
The Grey opens with a bar fight, and description provided by the protagonist of the men we are about embark on this journey with. Liam Neeson’s character Ottway; a weary man haunted by images from his past and contemplating suicide. Ottway protects workers who are building a pipeline for an unnamed oil company in Alaska, from marauding wolves. Once he pulls out of his suicide plans, he boards a plane headed for home with a collection of rough and tough oil riggers. In the middle of the night the plane goes down and the handful of survivors, wake up surrounded by debris, dead co-workers and endless miles of snow.

My view:
The Grey is a man vs. nature flick. The filmmaker places seven characters … Read More »

‘The Grey’ Review

The first trailer I saw for The Grey showed Liam Neeson fighting wolves and I thought “Oh man, the character from Taken has moved to Alaska” and I had very little interest in watching it. In fact, I actually wrote a post about how little I cared for it and didn’t really give it a second thought.

That was until I started hearing some pretty positive things about it from @Sakura_59 and @PopcornJunkies and so decided to add it to my To Watch List. I am very very glad that I went to the movies and watched it last night.

Liam Neeson stars as John Ottway, a man haunted by the memory of his wife whose absence leads him to the ends of the earth working as security protection for an Alaskan oil company charged with keeping their employees safe from the … Read More »

‘The Grey’ trailer

4th December

Liam Neeson is back.

Trying to survive in the wilderness and not be eaten by wolves in the new film The Grey. I should be interested then, right? But alas, the trailer did nothing for me.

It looks a little bit like Alive mixed together with a bit of Lost thrown in and for some reason whenever I saw the wolves surrounding him and baring their teeth all I could think of was The Neverending Story.

Not exactly for me, but have a look and let me know if you’re keen.

Liam, when you’re back in the business of killing off half of Europe in Taken 2, let me know…I’ll sing the praises of that for sure!

The Grey is released in Australia on February 16th.

From the Blog!

1:37 exactly is a website designed to share movie reviews, trailers, and assorted bits n pieces that I find interesting, and hopefully some of you too. It is NOT a website for all official and up to date movie news and reviews. Trust me, there are PLENTY of great movie blogs and official websites that cover everything. In fact, if you ask me I will provide a list of them to you! Hopefully there is something on the site that you find interested and want to engage in a discussion on, if not, thanks for stopping by. Cheers, @Russell_Oz
