New Superman Logo for 'Man of Steel'
1st April
Being the massive Superman fan that I am, it just doesn’t feel right that I don’t have the new Superman logo for Zack Snyder’s reboot of Superman adorning my website.
So here it is in all its glory, the new logo for next year’s Man of Steel
The logo (thanks to @popcornjunkies) looks pretty sweet, a new take on an old favourite. I love how the “S” almost looks like a serpent or dragon, I wonder if that will feature in the film…
I also really like the look for the dull red against a really dull backdrop which provides a grittiness to it and with the light shining on the top of the logo it’s almost like hope among the darkness.
Maybe I’m just thinking too much.
Man of Steel opens next year!

Henry Cavill as Superman: First Official Pic
6th August
Written by: Russell
There we have it film fans, the first official image of Henry Cavill as Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.
As a lifelong Superman fan, I am little nervous and just a tad disappointed by the image.
This Superman looks darker and edgier than the other incarnations with a colour muted suit, different shaped symbol, and even the expression on Cavill’s face.
It looks like (and this is only first impressions) Zack Snyder has taken Superman down the path of the gritty, realistic, and darker tone made famous by Chris Nolan and the Batman franchise.
I hope I am wrong, I really do.
Superman is a completely different character to Batman. Don’t try to make him the same.
Please.

Man of Steel: Cast Updates
27th June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Man hasn’t it been a big week for the Man of Steel…here’s a recap of the latest casting news.
Just yesterday it was announced that Christopher Meloni has been cast in an unknown role.
According to Worst Previews, NY Mag caught up the man himself and he annouced that the role is not Lex Luthor, after much speculation. Instead it will be a general, of some sort. So not only will the former Dectective Stabler not be playing Lex Luthor but it also rules out Perry White too.
The annoucement of Chris Meloni’s involvement followed hot on the heels of the announcement that Julia Ormond has joined the cast playing Lara, Superman’s Kryptionian mother, wife to Jor-El.
Now technically I haven’t seen anywhere online where it’s stated that it’s a lock however my trusted source of IMDb.com has Ms Ormond in the … Read More »
Russell Crowe as Jor-El?
16th June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Today THR reports that Russell Crowe is in negotiations to play Jor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian father, in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.
If the negotiation is successful then Mr Crowe will be stepping into a role made famous by Marlon Brano in the original 1978 version of Superman. Although Mr Brando’s screen time in the film only ended up being about 16 minutes, let’s hope that the role is expanded a little more in this version.
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
Whether you like the man or not, Russell Crowe is a very talented actor and is capable of playing any role that he puts his mind to. Speaking of which, if you need proof of the man’s talent then go … Read More »
Michael Shannon IS General Zod!
11th April
It’s official!
Henry Cavill will be facing off against Michael Shannon in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel!
Mr Shannon, best known for his Oscar nominated role in Revolutionary Road and most recently as his turn as Agent Nelson Van Alden in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, will take on the villainous role of General Zod!
Director Zack Snyder had this to say about the casting decision;
“Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role”
This is great casting and I think that Mr Shannon will play a great General Zod and it’s also a relief to hear that this Superman reboot will have an actual villain other than … Read More »
Amy Adams is Lois Lane
28th March
Greetings all,
It’s official! Amy Adams is Lois Lane!
Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel. Ms Adams will be joining Henry Cavill, Kevin Costner, and Diane Lane in the new reboot scheduled to be released next year.
It’s been a stellar year for Ms Adams who joins the cast hot off her Oscar nominated performance as Charlene Fleming in The Fighter. Ms Adams has the unique ability to embody all of her characters and only seems to go from strength to strength.
I first noticed Amy Adams in Catch Me If You Can as Brenda Strong, the innocent and naive nurse who falls for the charms of con man Frank Abagnale Jr (Leonardo DiCaprio). I thought she was just brilliant and made me believe her character in every scene that she’s in. Now cut forward to The Fighter…could … Read More »
'Man of Steel' – Kevin Costner Joins Cast
18th March
Greetings all,
Today it was announced that Kevin Costner has joined the Superman: Man of Steel cast in the role of Jonathan Kent, Superman’s adoptive father.
Mr Costner joins Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman) and Diane Lane (Martha Kent) in Zack Snyder’s epic which is scheduled for release December 2012.
A Warner Bros press release states;
“Jonathan Kent is the only father figure Clark has ever had, the man who was there to help Clark understand what he was meant to do in the world as Superman. Kevin will be able to communicate the quiet strength of this rural American man who raised the greatest superhero of all time.”
It’s not the first time that Mr Costner will be playing a rural American with “quiet strength”, do you think he will channel Ray Kinsella? What about a scene where Jonathon whispers to Clark, “if you help them, … Read More »

‘Superman’ Reboot to start Filming
31st January
We still don’t know who Superman will be in Zack Snyder’s upcoming reboot, but we know a few things about the movie. Jon Hamm won’t be the Man of Steel, nor will anyone around the same age or older. Snyder’s Supes won’t share a universe with Christopher Nolan’s Batman, though the Dark Knight Rises helmer is producing the reboot.
Today’s update has nothing to do with the people involved and everything to do with a location. Vancouver has long been known as one of the shooting locations for Snyder’s reboot. That’s where production will kick off this summer. Now there’s word that at least some of the blockbuster’s shoot will edge into Alberta as well.
Nothing is confirmed, but Canadian Culture Minister Lindsay Blackett confirmed to the Calgary Herald on Wednesday: “There might be one that is a $200 million[-budgeted production], but … Read More »
