From the mind of Kevin Smith, the man who brought us the View Askew universe and who has recently changed the landscape of podcasts with his SModcast network, now comes a Reality TV show Comic Book Men!

Comic Book Men is set in Smith’s own store Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash in Red Bank NJ and is a one hour reality show based on the daily lives of those who work there and the customers who come from near and far to visit the store.

The staff who run the secret stash are also the hosts of the very popular Tell ‘em Steve Dave podcast (one of my personal favourites) which is recorded weekly at a poker table in-store.

How cool is this?!?!?

For all the Kevin Smith fans out there across this big brown country of ours, we have news that the man himself has announced that he will be bringing his Christian fundamentalist epic, Red State, to Australia from September 22nd this year!

According to TheReelBits.com Kevin Smith has announced via S.I.R that he will be bringing Red State to Australia along with his Q&A tour that was received oh so well in the US!

This is absolutely brilliant news and I for one am totally psyched for this!

Ok, so the only thing that is making me feel a little disappointed is that I am going to be overseas during the month of September so I am going to miss this, which totally breaks my heart….

According to IndieWire Kevin Smith’s thriller Red State will be distributed by Phase 4 Films for its Canadian release.

Berry Meyerowitz, President & CEO of Phase 4 Films, announced that they plan on releasing the film with some creative marketing and a distribution campaign which will include a tour across Canada.

This is an awesome win for Canada and for its Kevin Smith Fans.

Kevin Smith stated; ““I love Canada — it’s a special country with some of the greatest people you’ll ever meet so I am incredibly pleased to have found a like-minded distributor in Phase 4 who is keen on bringing the film to audiences across the Great White North in what we are calling our ‘Red Province Tour’.”
