Guillermo del Toro's 'Pacific Rim'
18th November
From the man who brought us Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth comes Pacific Rim, a new film about what happen’s when aliens attack the Earth and we must defend ourselves…by piloting huge metal robots!
Guillermo del Toro is no stranger to creating incredible visual scenes combined with eerily unsettling characters that just make his films so original. So even though the story sounds kind of Battle:LA meets Voltron I wait eagerly with bated breath.
Besides having del Toro at the helm, the cast alone is reason to rejoice!
The line up of Sons Of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, Horrible Bosses funny man Charlie Day, The Wire‘s Idris Elba, and the always amazing Rinko Kikuchi (who stole every scene in Babel) is reason to get excited! But…there’s been one more cast announcement today that is just too cool for school…Ron Perlman has joined the cast!

'Drive' Review – The Definitive Perspective
5th November
Guest Writer: So’s My Wife (@sosmywife)
…and weep
Drive reminds us of a certain age and shows the newer cinema goer that acting, thank god is still in vogue and that over bearing and ridiculous scripts are not needed to, pardon the pun, drive a story.
I came across this little masterpiece I have to admit completely by accident. Going to the movies alas is not a frequent pleasure and when I get the chance I don’t want to be flippant about my choices. So after a look at last weekend’s papers a very positive review of Drive caught my eye. The rest as they say….
Now I’m not going to spell out plot devices or give away spoilers, it’s your job to see and make up your own minds but what I will do I give you a little insight why a film … Read More »

'Drive' Review – 2 out of 5
4th November
After hearing nothing but positive reviews for Drive, I went into the cinema with high expectations. I wasn’t just disappointed, I was crushed.
How could I not like a film that has been universally acclaimed?
This is the film that won Nicolas Winding Refn the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival and where the film itself was nominated for the Palm d’Or. It currently stands at #137 in IMDb’s Top 250 films of all time. It has a current rating of 92% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes!
Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I am the only one on the planet who just didn’t like it. I spent the night revisiting the film in my head and kept trying to look for something that I missed.
But in the end, I have to stand by my initial thoughts, Drive was over-hyped, boring, overly violent, and just didn’t … Read More »

'Sons of Anarchy'…need I say more?
1st November
I am a huge fan of Sons of Anarchy.
It easily makes my Top 3 TV shows of all time, standing alongside The Sopranos and Deadwood.
When I first heard about the show it didn’t initially strike me as something that I would really enjoy, I mean how interesting could a show be about a motorcycle club really be…
It just goes to show you how wrong I was, it is brilliant in a way that I never thought possible and now I find myself waiting week after week for a new episode.
Starring an amazingly talented cast consisting of Ron Perlman (Clay), Katey Sagal (Gemma), Charlie Hunnam (Jax), Mark Boone Junior (Bobby), Kim Coates (Tig), Tommy Flannagan (Chibs), Maggie Siff (Tara), Theo Rossi (Juice), William Lucking (Piney), Ryan Hurst (Opie), and Dayton Callie (Chief Unser).

Official 'Drive' Poster
3rd August
Thanks to the always reliable and interesting /Film, here’s the first official poster from Drive.
So for all you Ryan Gosling fans out there then I would say that this poster is pretty much aimed at you! Whilst it doesn’t really give away anything and I have to say that I am not a huge fan of lettering either, it is still the first official poster.
I hope that there are others that will be released soon because this still remains one of the must see films of this year, it looks brilliant!
On the /Film site you’ll also find a couple of other signed posters showing a couple of other characters so check it out if you’re keen, worth having a look…however still the same lettering!
Drive stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman, and Albert Brooks.
