How can anyone be afraid of turning 40?
Well if you’re Pete and Debbie I can TOTALLY understand why! You remember Pete and Debbie, right?
2007 was the year of Judd Apatow’s pregnancy/slacker comedy Knocked Up where we were introduced to the characters of Pete and Debbie portrayed by Paul Rudd and Apatow’s real life wife, Leslie Mann. No disrespect to Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl but they were outshone by the long-time married couple whose one-liner’s stole the entire movie with what could be one of the most realistic portrayals of married life I’ve ever seen on the big screen.
They are back by popular demand in Apatow’s “sequel of sorts”, This is 40, which follows the continued adventures of the Pete and Debbie whilst they try to better their lives whilst approaching the big 4-0.
I have been looking forward to this one for a … Read More »

I’m not exactly sure why I am so keen for Judd Apatow’s new film This is Forty, a spin-off from his 2007 comedy Knocked Up, following the lives of Pete and Debbie (played by Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann respectively).
Apart from having some of the best scenes in Knocked Up, I always thought that the relationship and dialogue between them always appeared to be very honest, whether you liked what they said or not, I always found it believable.
It wasn’t just the conversations between the two of them that made them an interesting pair, I thought that the conversations that Pete had with Ben (Seth Rogen) in the park was so real and really spoke to me. I can’t be the only one who thought that, right?
So this brings us to This is Forty, currently in production, and stars Leslie Mann, Paul Rudd, Megan … Read More »

In case you don’t follow Judd Apatow on Twitter (@JuddApatow) then the below might be new to you…but IF the below is new to you then it raises another question….why DON’T you follow Judd Apatow on Twitter?
Judd Apatow is currently about halfway through filming his latest movie, a spinoff of his Knocked Up characters Pete & Debbie, played by Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, in an as-yet-untitled comedy co-starring Megan Fox, Chris O’Dowd, and Melissa McCarthy.
If you’ve seen Knocked Up then you know just how great and watchable the characters of Pete and Debbie are. The relationship between the two and the dialogue simply make them a must watch. Even if you didn’t entirely believe the relationship between Seth Rogen’s Ben Stone and Katherine Heigl’s Alison Scott, you DID believe what was happening between Pete and Debbie.
If this spin-off is … Read More »
