‘Safety Not Guaranteed’ Trailer

2nd April

I want to believe.

You know you want to believe.

Watching the below trailer for Safety Not Guaranteed has made me want to believe even more in the possibility of time travel.

Now tell me that you don’t want to believe?

Safety Not Guaranteed is directed by Colin Trevorrow (TV movie Gary: Under Crisis) and stars Aubrey Plaza (The End of Love), Jake M. Johnson (TV’s Allen Gregory), Karan Soni (TV’s Are You There, Chelsea), and Mark Duplass (TV’s The League) as the time traveller in question.

Watching the trailer it reminded me a little bit of K-PAX, the wonderful film starring Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges as a man who claimed that he was an alien and would be soon returning to his home planet. It was an astounding film with amazing performances, especially by Spacey. I hope that Safety Not Guaranteed is able to capture some … Read More »

‘Prometheus’ New Trailer

18th March

The Interwebs went on full alert and subsequent meltdown today as the new trailer for Ridley Scott’s unofficial prequel to Alien was released. If you’re like most sci-fi and movie geeks then you’ve probably already seen the trailer however if you’re one of the few who haven’t yet then I post this for you.

Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, Patrick Wilson, and Idris Elba. In what is probably one of the most anticipated films of the year, the feedback from the trailer has been nothing short of amazingly positive.

Did you enjoy it?

Personally I am not a big Alien fan and so I am not really fussed by the unofficial prequel or the mythology behind it. I am now I am probably the only one in the movie-watching world who feels like this but it’s just never … Read More »

‘Battleship’ Trailer

Ok, so the idea of watching a movie based on a game that we all used to play when we were kids probably doesn’t appeal much. I understand that, I mean what’s next Hungry Hungry Hippo’s set in Africa?

BUT…before you totally dismiss it, take 2min 15 sec and watch the below trailer. All of it, not just the boring and tedious first 60 seconds.

So what do you think?

I have to admit that as much as I thought it was going to suck, by the end of the trailer I was interested in seeing what happens next. That’s the point of a trailer, so you have to admit that at least this one has a decent one.

The first part of the trailer with the whole “I’m going to walk in there and ask permission to marry his daughter” thing almost lost … Read More »

‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Trailer

That’s right people, the official trailer for the Spider-Man reboot has been released! And I have to say that I am very impressed!

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Sally Field as May Parker, and Rhys Ifans as Dr Curt Connor/The Lizard.

I love the idea of mechanical web-shooters and to be able to see some of it in action was very cool. I know that some people say that mechanical web-shooters takes away from the believeability of the story but…um…it’s based on a comic book?!?! Exactly how believeable do you want it to be?

I thought the addition of Peter’s parents was an interesting take and from what I can remember (which honestly isn’t much) from the comic book there was a story … Read More »

‘Superman’ Reboot to start Filming

Posted by Russell_Oz in Movie News, Superhero Stuff. No Comments

31st January

We still don’t know who Superman will be in Zack Snyder’s upcoming reboot, but we know a few things about the movie. Jon Hamm won’t be the Man of Steel, nor will anyone around the same age or older. Snyder’s Supes won’t share a universe with Christopher Nolan’s Batman, though the Dark Knight Rises helmer is producing the reboot.

Today’s update has nothing to do with the people involved and everything to do with a location. Vancouver has long been known as one of the shooting locations for Snyder’s reboot. That’s where production will kick off this summer. Now there’s word that at least some of the blockbuster’s shoot will edge into Alberta as well.

Nothing is confirmed, but Canadian Culture Minister Lindsay Blackett confirmed to the Calgary Herald on Wednesday: “There might be one that is a $200 million[-budgeted production], but … Read More »

From the Blog!

1:37 exactly is a website designed to share movie reviews, trailers, and assorted bits n pieces that I find interesting, and hopefully some of you too. It is NOT a website for all official and up to date movie news and reviews. Trust me, there are PLENTY of great movie blogs and official websites that cover everything. In fact, if you ask me I will provide a list of them to you! Hopefully there is something on the site that you find interested and want to engage in a discussion on, if not, thanks for stopping by. Cheers, @Russell_Oz
