Why ‘Rounders’ Is One Of My Favourite Films!
5th May
Hands down, Rounders is one of my favourite movies of all time. I’d say that it sits quite comfortably in my Top 10 films of all time.
What could my reasons be? Am I just a poker nut? A huge Matt Damon fan? An even bigger Edward Norton fan?
Well I wrote a review/essay piece for my good friend @Melbwrites and her great website which is located at http://melissasimaginarium.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/rounders.html. In addition to my thoughts on the film, I asked my Wonder Woman if she’d be interested in writing a review and she was so both can now be located at Melissa’s Imaginarium.
I highly recommend checking them out!

Guest Review: The Avengers
3rd May
Written by: Rainbow
I have to digress briefly and mention my increasing intolerance for fellow moviegoers.
Throughout the entire film I had a fellow patron rattle her and her child’s hands in chip packets. Seriously these things should be banned from cinemas. They are distracting and heavily impact on the enjoyment of the film for others. I am taking a stand. No chips. No slurping your drink – if it’s empty, slurping won’t create any more Coke, either buy a bigger one or drink slower. No sniffing, coughing or TALKING! If you want to chit chat, LEAVE!
I am disgusted with the constant disregard for others enjoyment. I hate having to get up mid-movie and dash to the toilet but if it’s necessary it must be done. I don’t stomp up the stairs like a hippo from Fantasia, I like to think I … Read More »
‘American Reunion’ Review – “Sequel-itis Gone Wrong”
19th April
Written by: Matthew Mupfanochiya
Summary:
The sex crazed teens are back to give fans one more piece of pie….right.
13 years after the original cast left high school, our cast of horny teens have ended up stuck in everyday life. No corner office, just a cubicle. Once racy sex lives have been replaced by dippers. Some have become house husbands -whose only trace of masculinity is a shabby attempt at a beard.
These disgruntled once familiar characters seize an opportunity to head back to their home town, East Great Falls for a 10 year reunion that is 3 years overdue, and that is where the story picks up..
My view:
The original American Pie movie introduced us a bunch of teens and their experiences and sexual evolution towards the end of their high school days. American Pie was a ground breaking and raunchy teen sex comedy, … Read More »

‘American Reunion’ – I Loved It!
13th April
Jim. Michelle. Stifler. Finch. Oz. Kevin. Vicky. Heather. Jim’s Dad. Stifler’s Mom.
If you know these names and just the thought of them brings a smile to your face then you’re going to love the latest slice of pie, American Reunion.
In the latest slice of pie, our favourite “Class of ’99″ head back to East Great Falls to attend their 13 year high school reunion (I mean 10 years is so cliché). Whilst they’re all looking forward to the reunion, the paths taken by the characters couldn’t be more different. Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) are happily married with a toddler of their own but seem stuck in a bit of rut, Oz (Chris Klein) is a successful TV sportscaster with a much younger (and “adventurous”) girlfriend (Katrina Bowden), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) is a house-husband, Finch (Eddie Kaye … Read More »

'Paranormal Activity 3' Review
2nd April
Written by: Clint Bertenshaw
As a fan of horror I have found in that the genre tends to lead towards gore over fear for most Hollywood movies. Don’t get me wrong, I love the gore factor as much as the next guy, but sometimes it’s nice to have an on the edge of your seat moment. The Paranormal Activity series has always done this for me.
OK, so it’s common knowledge by now that the movies are not in fact “lost tapes” and the events did not happen, but it is because of the handy cam style recording that really gives the series its edge. The idea of what you can’t see being the fear generator. The first movie was brilliant. Intense moments gradually built to a climax but also went through some up and down moments so you were left wondering … Read More »

Guest Review: 'The Raid'
27th March
Written by: Matthew Mupfanochiya
Summary:
A simple mission: take down a drug dealer and all-round bad guy in his tower like fortress in the slums of Jakarta. The catch; this place is feared by all police and this is the first raid of its nature. Tasked with this mission is a SWAT team including rookie Rama (Iko Uwais) who has a personal reason to be on this mission and Sargent, Jaka (Joe Taslim) an honest and experienced crime fighter.
Despite their best efforts the team are spotted before they can make their way up to arrest Tama; the villain played by (Ray Sahetapy). Tama offers free accommodation in his tower for anyone who kills a police officer. The offer is taken up by the armed low-life tenants of the tower. In addition, Tama’s two bodyguards and most trusted aids Mad-Dog (Yayan … Read More »
