‘Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close’ Review

It’s been a long time since I’ve hated a movie as much as I hated Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. It combines manipulative drama with emotional subject matter all wrapped in the irritating and obnoxious performance by the film’s lead, Thomas Horn.
The film has achieved something special though, it’s made the list of films that I should have walked out of instead of sitting through and enduring it. It sits right there next to Transformers 3.
The film, based on the book of the same name by Jonathan Safran Foer, tells the story of Oskar Schell, whose father died in the September 11 terrorist attacks and how he deals with the devastating loss through the solving of a seemingly complex treasure hunt.

I just came across this trailer tonight and it really surprised me because I had never heard of this movie before. At all.
I thought this was a little strange because you tend to hear about upcoming films and what certain actors are doing from various websites all over the Internet, but this one kind of snuck by under the radar.
It stars Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, John Goodman, Max Von Sydow, Viola Davis, Jeffrey Wright, James Gandolfini, and introducing the film’s star Thomas Horn.
