‘Coriolanus’ Images
4th December
Last week I discovered the trailer for Ralph Fiennes directorial debut, Coriolanus, and just fell in love with what I was seeing – an adaptation of Shakespeare’s revenge tragedy in a current setting with an all-star cast. It looks violent, intense, and brutal…just how I like my Shakespeare films!
Thanks to THR there have been 3 new stills released and they look just as intense as the trailer, so I wanted to share them.
Coriolanus is scheduled for a February 23rd release in Australia.

‘Coriolanus’ Trailer
29th November
Have you seen the trailer for Coriolanus yet? It looks intense!
Coriolanus is the directorial debut for Ralph Fiennes, who also stars alongside Gerard Butler (300), in this modern day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play of the same name.
Coriolanus is a Shakespearean tragedy so you know it’s going to include Battles, Betrayal, Power, Violence, and Revenge! All the ingredients for a powerfully tragic film, couple that with Ralph Fiennes leading the charge, and you know that you are set for something special!
Just like Baz Lurhman’s modern-day interpretation of Romeo & Juliet, all Shakespeare needs is to be a little more modern to appeal to a larger audience. Who could tell by this trailer that the source material was Shakespeare? I am a fan of Shakespeare’s plays and have really enjoyed the film interpretations (well, some more than others) and I am definitely holding high … Read More »

300: Battle of Artemisia Update
28th June
Written by: Stoic Taco
For all you fans of 300 and Immortals, rejoice for there is news about the much talked about Xerxes film.
According to Deadline, the Xerxes prequel spinoff has been renamed 300: Battle of Artemisia and a choice of 2 possible directors has emerged, Noam Murro and Jaume Collet-Serra.
Do you think that the film has been renamed to reference 300 just in case the average movie-goer doesn’t recognise the name Xerxes? I do. It’s a shame really because Xerxes was a larger-than-life (literally) villain in the original film and I felt that there should be enough recgonition to hold his own against other titles. However, I can also see from a business perspective that you need to do what you can in order to bring the audience in. The age old argument, creativity versus profit…one can’t exist without the other.
The good news … Read More »
