Is it wrong to want the gangsters to win?

Not that I have anything against the Gangster Squad but seriously Sean Penn is a stick of dynamite with a lit fuse, how can he not win??

The official trailer for Ruben Fleischer’s the Gangster Squad was released a few days ago and it looks pretty sweet. It’s set in a time where the gangsters were bad so the cops needed to be worse.

As you probably know I am really looking forward to Gangster Squad (if not, some of my other articles are here) just because I love a good gangster flick and this one looks like it’s shaping up to be something awesome!

What do we know so far?

The film is based on a series of 8 articles written for the LA Times by Paul Lieberman that focussed on the creation of a special Police unit called the Gangster Squad whose objective was to keep the city free of the East Coast Mafia in the 1940′s and 50′s.

Who’s in it?

It’s pretty much a veritable who’s who of Hollywood, check it;

It looks like Emma Stone’s career is set to soar with her being offered the lead female role in Ruben Fleischer’s The Gangster Squad, starring Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, and Josh Brolin.

According to Reuters the role Ms Stone has been offered is Jean, a woman who is romantically entangled with two men on opposite sides of the law. The two men are Mickey Cohen(Sean Penn) and “the police officer who is chasing him down”. Now that doesn’t exactly give me a whole lot to go on but I have to assume it’s Ryan Gosling or Josh Brolin.

Emma Stone, soon to be seen in The Amazing Spider-Man as Gwen Stacy, has made quite a name for herself in a relatively short amount of time since Superbad, and I am sure that it won’t stop here.

That’s right people, the official trailer for the Spider-Man reboot has been released! And I have to say that I am very impressed!

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Sally Field as May Parker, and Rhys Ifans as Dr Curt Connor/The Lizard.

I love the idea of mechanical web-shooters and to be able to see some of it in action was very cool. I know that some people say that mechanical web-shooters takes away from the believeability of the story but…um…it’s based on a comic book?!?! Exactly how believeable do you want it to be?
