Drive – Ryan Gosling Leads an All Star Cast

Have you heard about Drive?
From what I heard and read about this film I think that it could be this year’s sleeper hit. I say that because there’s been a lot of press about Pirates 4, Green Lantern, Captain America, and Cowboys & Aliens that I think that this film might be the one that blows everyone away and has them thinking “where did this come from?”
Ryan Gosling (Blue Valentine) stars as a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver and discovers that a contract has been placed on him after a job gone wrong.
Mr Gosling is joined by a true all-star cast, have a look at these names;

Gotti: Three Generations Director Speaks

Barry Levinson, the director of Gott: Three Generations has spoken about the new film in an interview given at the Cannes Film Festival.
“You’re really kind of getting an inside look from the man who lived it, who in fact was the mafia boss there, and about his father, who was probably the biggest, most well-known figure…It fascinated me to hear the stories, to get a sense of the man, get a sense of how he viewed his father.”
The role of John Gotti Snr is still vacant at this point in time, however I have heard the name James Franco being thrown around more than once, however nothing official has been confirmed.

Lars von Trier: “Persona non grata”

Following on from what could be the gaffe of the film season, Lars von Trier has been banned from the Cannes Film Festival, however his film Melancholia is still in the competition.
On Wednesday of this week, while promoting his new film, Lars made the following statement;
“I really wanted to be a Jew and then I found out I was really a Nazi which also gave me some pleasure,” he said. “What can I say, I understand Hitler. I think he did his wrong things … but I understand the man. He’s not what you would call a good guy but I understand him, I sympathize with him…I”m not against the Jews. I am of course very much for the Jews. How can I get out of this sentence? OK, I’m a Nazi”
