Oh hey there, just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years there’s a new movie coming out in July called The Dark Knight Rises, it’s the sequel to another indie film from 2008 titled The Dark Knight.

Now some of us caught the 2008 film and loved it. Actually, it’s a little known fact that it was a sequel to another movie Batman Begins starring the same title character, Batman.

So in case this is the first time you’re hearing about The Dark Knight Rises, this will be the final chapter in the trilogy by little-known director Christopher Nolan and soon-to-be-well-known actor Christian Bale.

I’ve always been a Superman guy for as long as I can remember.

I loved the story of Superman, the outsider aspect, and his idealism that, to me, makes him the ultimate superhero.

However don’t get me wrong, I think that Batman is awesome and yeah I also love the fact that he’s basically a rich guy in a suit with a lot of very cool toys and an extraordinary amount of martial arts training which, in theory, mean that any man technically could become Batman. I have a lot of friends who would agree very strongly with that statement. Yes, I have geeky friends.

So it is for them and everyone else who loves Batman that I post this for;

The official trailer for The Dark Knight Rises has been released and it looks pretty freakin good!

I have tried very hard to stay away from spoilers, conversations, and even rumours because I know that I am going to see this in the cinema when it gets released so I don’t really need to know anything beforehand. I wasn’t even going to watch the trailer because I wanted to preserve my Dark Knight Rises ignorance. But after some words from @DVDBits I decided to give it a go. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!

How cool was this trailer? Not only does it make you want to watch it NOW, but it also reminds you just how great this franchise is and what an amazing job Chris Nolan has done with bringing credibility back to Batman.

The first official pic of Anne Hathaway dressed as Catwoman has been released and is doing the rounds.

It is interesting to note that the image released is titled Selina Kyle rather than Catwoman but at first glance it sure looks like what we’d expect Catwoman to kind of look like. Perhaps this is just director Chris Nolan playing with the die-hard fans…

I have to admit that the image left me a little empty and feeling a tad “meh” but I have faith in Mr Nolan’s vision for the final installment in his Batman franchise so I am trying to reserve judgement until the finished product is released next year.

Anne Hathaway has been cast in the role as Selina Kyle in the new ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ film! And we all know who Selina becomes…CATWOMAN!

This news ends months of speculation about who the female lead will be in the new Batman film and what role she will play…and I for one couldn’t be happier with the casting of Anne Hathaway.

Miss Hathaway’s career seems to be going from strength to strength and I am sure will be in a similar position very shortly to Natalie Portman as one of the most bankable actresses working today.

Roles in ‘The Princess Diaries’ and ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ showcased Miss Hathaway’s ability to play sweet, demure, and innocent characters but also showed a glimmer of something more intense.

Anne Hathaway announced as the new Catwoman for Dark Knight Rises | News.com.au.

Anne Hathaway has been announced as the new Catwomen in Dark Night Rises.

Interesting choice given Hathaway has often been cast for more girl next door type roles.  I just hope she can bring out that kinky side like Michelle Phieffer did in Batman Returns.
