‘Ruby Sparks’ Trailer
23rd April
I really like the idea of this movie.
There’s something to be said about a concept which is original, sweet, and endearing….and I think that Ruby Sparks looks like it has all three elements.
At first it looks like it’s going to be another version of Stranger than Fiction, a brilliant film starring Emma Thompson and Will Ferrell, but it looks like it may have been inspired by the film but takes it in a new and original direction.
What can I say? I’m a sucker for quirky romantic flick;
Directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine) and written by first-time screenwriter and lead actress Zoe Kazan (Nina in TV’s Bored to Death). Ruby Sparks tells the story of a writer (Paul Dano) struggling with writer’s block who finds himself in an unusual situation of falling in his with his lead female character, … Read More »

‘Haywire’ Trailer
29th July

Have you heard about Haywire?
The cast alone will have me in the cinema checking it out, plus it doesn’t hurt that it looks just plain awesome! Ok so the story looks a tad familiar – top of their game government agent who is double-crossed and is out for revenge – but since it’s directed by Steven Soderbergh I will give the benefit of the doubt.
Leading the cast is relative unknown Gina Carano (Blood and Bone) but she is supported by some of the most well known names in Hollywood, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Bill Paxton, Antonio Banderas, and Michael Douglas.

For all you fans of the Spy Kids franchise, here’s the trailer for the fourth entry into the series.
Directed and written by the amazing talented Robert Rodriguez and starring Jessica Alba, Jeremy Piven, and Joel McHale.
The story follows Marissa Cortez Wilson, a retired spy (Alba) who is reactivated back into action to take part in a dangerous mission to bring down the evil Time Keeper, played by Jeremy Piven. She is also the stepmother to Rebecca (Rowan Blachard) and Cecil (Mason Cook) who will be playing the Spy Kids this time round.
Robert Rodriguez’s last entry in the franchise was in 2003 and grossed more than $200m, will this new chapter do similar business?
As someone who has never seen the original trilogy, should I check it out or is it really aimed at a younger audience?
Let me know … Read More »
