‘On The Road’ Trailer
18th March
The On the Road trailer has been released this week.
For those unfamiliar with the movie based on the famous book by Jack Kerouac, as I was, the trailer probably won’t do much for you. You may watch it and think “Meh. I’ve seen this all before.” However it was only after doing a tad more research that I realised that the reason I felt I had seen it all before was because every other mid country road trip movie I had seen had been influenced by this seminal book.
The book ‘On the Road‘ is often considered one of the most influential works of the Beat Generation and has been included on the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005 by Time magazine.
The movie will have some mighty big expectations to meet and hopefully the cast will be up for … Read More »

Man of Steel: Cast Updates
27th June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Man hasn’t it been a big week for the Man of Steel…here’s a recap of the latest casting news.
Just yesterday it was announced that Christopher Meloni has been cast in an unknown role.
According to Worst Previews, NY Mag caught up the man himself and he annouced that the role is not Lex Luthor, after much speculation. Instead it will be a general, of some sort. So not only will the former Dectective Stabler not be playing Lex Luthor but it also rules out Perry White too.
The annoucement of Chris Meloni’s involvement followed hot on the heels of the announcement that Julia Ormond has joined the cast playing Lara, Superman’s Kryptionian mother, wife to Jor-El.
Now technically I haven’t seen anywhere online where it’s stated that it’s a lock however my trusted source of IMDb.com has Ms Ormond in the … Read More »

The Second Muppets Trailer: Not in Swedish
19th June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Jason Segel said it best, “Is this another Muppet trailer parody? Why don’t we just show a real trailer? I mean, what are we hiding? Did we make the movie in Swedish or something?”
Just when you thought it was safe to head back to the Internet and search for a real Muppets movie trailer…they hit you again with another parody one. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not upset by this at all, in fact I could spend a good part of my day watching the Muppets do what they do best, which is why I enjoyed this second parody trailer just as much as the first one.
Well that and the fact that they reference The Green Lantern in this one!
The highlight for me in this one was watching Chris Cooper, Stadtler, and Waldorf sitting around a table … Read More »
Russell Crowe as Jor-El?
16th June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Today THR reports that Russell Crowe is in negotiations to play Jor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian father, in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.
If the negotiation is successful then Mr Crowe will be stepping into a role made famous by Marlon Brano in the original 1978 version of Superman. Although Mr Brando’s screen time in the film only ended up being about 16 minutes, let’s hope that the role is expanded a little more in this version.
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
Whether you like the man or not, Russell Crowe is a very talented actor and is capable of playing any role that he puts his mind to. Speaking of which, if you need proof of the man’s talent then go … Read More »
Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘The Master’
2nd June
Written by: Stoic Taco
Paul Thomas Anderson (PTA), the genius behind Magnolia and There Will Be Blood, is all set for his new film The Master.
Philip Seymour Hoffman stars in the lead role as Lancaster Dodd, a World War II veteran who returns home disillusioned with everything he’s seen whilst serving in the war. In an effort to find himself, Dodd builds a belief system that catches on during the 1950′s. Joaquin Phoenix co-stars as Freddie Sutton, an alcoholic drifter who becomes Dodd’s right hand man.
The film has already generated a lot of buzz with its subject matter as it has been said to be influenced by a current popular celebrity religion and has since undergone some script changes.
PTA has delivered some of the most intense, gripping, and emotionally draining films that I have ever seen, as mentioned above, Magnolia and There … Read More »

Are You Green With Envy?
25th May
Written by: Stoic Taco
On May 20th 2011, a video was uploaded to YouTube by the official GreenWithEnvyMovie channel.
That video was the first trailer for the new film starring Jason Segal, Amy Adams, and Chris Cooper. Love struck meets star struck when a small town couple head to Hollywood and discover their dreams of hitting the big time may cost them the one thing that matters most — each other.
Not exactly the most interesting or original story in the world right?
It gets better. Oh boy, does it get better. Watch it now and keep an eye open at the 51 second mark.
See, I told you.
What an absolutely awesome way to announce the arrival of one of the most anticipated films this year. A film that is sure to have everyone’s inner kid running wild!
I know mine is! Every time I watch that … Read More »
'The Muppets' Movie Poster
17th May
Written by: Stoic Taco
As Empire Online announced earlier tonight, The Muppets one sheet movie poster has been released!
There is definitely something a little odd about seeing the Muppet’s legs…it’s just as disconcerting as seeing Tom Selleck without his moustache…you knew it had to exist but it doesn’t make it any easier looking at it.
Being a lifelong Muppets fan I am all kinds of excited about seeing this new film from director James Bobin (The Flight of the Conchords) and written by Jason Segal (How I Met Your Mother) and Nicholas Stoller (Get Him To The Greek) scheduled for release in Australia 1st January 2012.
The new film, with all of our favourite Muppets (my personal favourite being Fozzie Bear), is the story of them coming back together to save their beloved Muppet Theatre from being taken over by a greedy oil … Read More »
