‘Battle:Los Angeles’ Review
14th March
Greetings all,
So tonight was the night. The night I saw Battle: LA.
The first question I need to answer is “Was it worth the wait?”
Yeah, well kind of.
The storyline is paper-thin. The dialogue is appalling. The characters were atypical <insert ANY war movie> copies. HOWEVER the action sequences and battle scenes were great!
Battle:LA doesn’t touch on any new ground at all, in fact if you combine Saving Private Ryan with Independence Day you would have a fairly good indication of what to expect.
The film focuses on Staff Sergeant Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), a grizzled veteran who wants to retire but is soon pulled back into the fray by the sudden appearance of some mysterious meteors appearing all over the world.
Unfortunately for Aaron Eckhart, the character he plays is someone who we have seen in countless movies before which means that every word that he … Read More »

“They know we’re here now”
For those of you who have been disconnected from the information super highway (does anyone still use that term?) and you are unfamiliar with Battle: LA, here’s a quick overview;

As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. ET Online reports that battling aliens and surviving a war zone wasn’t the only thing to be concerned about on-set with Ne-Yo clashing with Aaron Eckhart!
It appears that the R&B singer (who plays Corporal Kevin Harris) was unfamiliar with working with a method actor and clashed with Aaron Eckhart after filming a scene.
Check out the video here
“I didn’t understand the concept of staying in character the whole time,we almost got in a little tussle just behind me not understanding that he’s still in character.[Eckhart] plays a tough guy in the film, so it was lunch and I go, ‘Hey, Aaron.’ And he goes, ‘Leave me alone.’” Ne-Yo later praised his co-star, saying, “He’s a … Read More »
