Updated: Open Letter to America
24th February
This post has now been updated to include the response blog that director Gareth Evans posted on his site due to the amount of emails and tweets that he received re the name change. It looks like I wasn’t the only one who was concerned about name change for the US release.

Dear America,
I like you. I mean, I really like you.
We’ve had some good times in the past and I thought that you liked me too. Remember when I came to visit you and we had some great times in LA, Las Vegas, and New York? Remember how we went to the Grand Canyon and took a ride in a helicopter and took some amazing photos and we both experienced one of the most amazing natural wonders in the world?
I really thought that we had something special. I honestly did.

I Don't Care About The Oscars!
24th January
Yes that’s right, I don’t like the Oscars.
I’m not going to say “hate” because I don’t care enough about them to use that amount of effort.
As we are only hours away from this year’s Oscar nominations I felt it was about time to write a little post about why I dislike the Oscars and why I won’t be writing any Oscar Prediction posts for this year. (If The Oscars are your thing, then there are some great bloggers out there writing some posts that you’d be very interested in reading, check my Blog Roll).
I understand that award ceremonies are a big deal to the people working within that industry but to me they hold very little interest. I have my own opinions about which films in the past 12 months I thought were great and which ones failed … Read More »

Why Bother Asking a Question?
22nd December
For those of you who stop by this site in order to see the occasional trailer, movie review, and/or some new updates, you may want to skip past this post because this one is going to be filed under The Soapbox.
That’s right, it’s a rant.
The question I have this morning is, why bother asking Twitter a question if you’re not interested in getting an answer? Or you’re not going to bother to respond to those who provide an answer?
So recently someone asked a question, it appeared to be a legitimate question, and since this was one of the rare occasions where I knew the answer I tweeted back a response. In fact, I tweeted back twice because my answer was rather long. I felt that it was a good answer to what appeared to be an honest question.

Release Dates in Australia
28th November
What is it with Australia getting releases after the rest of the world?
I’m not just talking a couple of weeks I am talking about months after they get released in the US!
As someone who spends a substantial amount of time on the Internet daily chatting with a lot of different film fans and reading a lot of different blogs and websites, it is made abundantly clear that we are getting the raw end of the stick (I fought the temptation to say “raw prawn”…)
There are a couple of movies that I would like to see now given the huge amount of positive reviews I have seen floating around the web and it’s just not fair that we need to wait until NEXT YEAR to watch them.
50/50 and The Muppets.
Yes, these films are the 2 big ones that have prompted … Read More »
Francis Ford Coppola: "There should have been only one"
24th November
OK people, can we please stop freaking out about the “news” that Francis Ford Coppola wished that he didn’t make The Godfather Part II, it’s been blown completely out of proportion!
A couple of days ago TMZ released a video of Francis Ford Coppola stating that “there should have only been one” and that 2 and 3 were a mistake. The video didn’t show Ford Coppola going into any other detail since he was heading into a restaurant but TMZ guessed that the Oscar-winning director wasn’t happy with being defined by that single movie when he had created so many other great films in his illustrious career.
They continued to carry on about how could Coppola possibly be upset with Godfather Part II since it’s widely considered to be the greatest sequel of all time.
Now, this is only my opinion but isn’t … Read More »

Twilight: You don't HAVE to watch it
20th November
OK so let me get this out there first, I’m not a Twilight fan.
I have never been a Twilight fan but that’s probably has to do with me having no interest in watching a movie about vampires and werewolves. By that same token I have never seen the Underworld series either for the same reason.
So if I don’t have an interest in the subject matter why would I spend my waking hours ragging on a movie that I have no interest in? There is a lot of hate out there for this series and people appear to spend more time than they should carrying on about how bad it is, how poor the acting is, and vapid the storyline is, blah blah blah
Don’t you have better things to do?
Unless you are a teenager or have a love for all things … Read More »

‘The Playboy Club’ Cancellation
26th October
I just found out through THR that the TV show The Playboy Club has been cancelled after just 3 episodes and just felt the need to vent! I am not impressed. I am not happy. But not for the reasons you think.
I watched about 30 minutes of the first episode and turned it off. It was too slow, too boring, and showcased a series of characters which were obviously based on the mega-hit Mad Men, just a cheaper version.
Nick Dalton (Eddie Cibrian) is a poor man’s Don Draper and Carol Lynne (Laura Benanti) tries hard to convince the viewers that she’s from the same mould as Joan Harris….not even close Carol….but thanks for playing.
So why am I upset that it’s been canned?
Apparently from almost the start of the show the Parents Television Council was on their back complaining protesting … Read More »
