'The Pirates! Band of Misfits' Trailer
I’ve never really been a fan of stop-motion animation, it just never really appealed to me.
I tried watching Wallace and Gromit but it never really did it for me. I mean there were certainly some funny parts but I wouldn’t go back and watch any of them again. Even Chicken Run didn’t hold any appeal and I am still yet to watch it.
So when I heard about the new stop-motion film coming out I have to say that my expectations weren’t high…and the trailer pretty much delivered what I expected.
So the look of the film is pretty much in-line with every other stop-motion film I have seen, features a veritable who’s who of acting talent (Hugh Grant, Brendan Gleeson, Jeremy Piven, Brian Blessed, Lenny Henry, Salma Hayek, Martin Freeman, and David Tennant), and some of the humour we have to come expect.
It’s not just the stop-motion which I dislike, this film just looks like it’s aimed at a younger market. I am sure that a lot of kids will enjoy it but from what I have seen I don’t think that there is much for the older audience.
Is it just me or have I missed the point entirely?

It does seem to really have an appeal for the younger audiences, and that is what will give it a decent run at the box office.
I’m not a fan of Wallace and Gromit either. But you’re right, I have a feeling that not very many moviegoers except the younger ones will be flocking to the theater to see it!

See i knew I couldn’t be the only one who thought this….thanks for the confirmation that i am not going mad. I just kept hearing all these adults saying that they were so excited for it and I just thought that I was missing something…
